Also, yes, cats really really do say some odd things and my oldest one has taught my youngest one to hiss in response to things that do not call for hisses. Like being fed, or rubbing my leg or saying hello, I think he just kind of throws them in randomly for color without understanding what they are for. The older cat does this too, but she didn't used to, so in her case I think it's because she's getting a little "eccentric" since she's over 13 years old.
The day when a strange cat showed up and my youngest saw it for the first time, he threw a royal howling fit when I went out to see if it was still around. He honestly made sounds and faces that were the most intense and human-like cat forms of "YOU HAVE ME! DON'T LOOK FOR IT YOU CHEATER!!!" XDXDXD He pouted for two days after that.

Indeed! They know this too, which is why a feline owns you, not the other way around.... we think we are the masters, but really they're just being catty about it, so they can cat-ch you off guard...... They do it on puuuurrpose.

(As it's quite obvious our cats are always snubbing and looking down on us)
